The challenge

Choosing a tutor for your child is a decision made on trust and warmth, not flashy features. Chatterton Tuition works with families across Harrogate and Ripon (and online worldwide), and needed a site that felt personal and reassuring while still covering a broad range of subjects and stages.

What we built

• A warm, family-focused design that reflects how the agency works with parents and students, rather than a cold directory of subjects.
• Clear pathways for the stages that matter most: 11+, GCSE and A-Level, so parents quickly find the help they’re looking for.
• Content that speaks to both local and online families, opening the agency up to students well beyond Yorkshire.
• A move off the ageing legacy CMS onto a brand new PayloadCMS build, giving the team a faster, friendlier way to update pages and content without touching code.
• A simple, friendly enquiry flow that makes the first step feel easy.

A new ecommerce avenue for their papers

Alongside tutoring, Chatterton has built up a library of 11+ practice papers covering Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, English Skills and Maths Skills. We turned these into a proper online store, opening up a new revenue stream that earns while the team sleeps.

• Parents can browse, buy and download papers in a few clicks, with a straightforward cart and checkout.
• Every purchase lands in a personal account area, so families can return to their downloads whenever they need them.
• Selling papers as digital downloads means no stock, no postage and no limit on reach: the same packs serve a family in Harrogate or one studying online on the other side of the world.

The result

A site that does what a good first meeting does: it puts parents at ease and shows the agency understands their child’s needs. It supports both the local roots of the business and its growing online reach.
