Websites for home services
Websites for home service businesses.
The job is simple and so is the decision, which is why it happens in about forty seconds. Do you cover my street, what does it cost, and can I start without ringing anyone? Answer all three before the visitor has to scroll and you have won.
What we have learned
What actually wins the work
Coverage answered instantly
A vague line about surrounding areas costs you enquiries every day. We built a postcode checker for Washing Wheelies so a visitor sees straight away whether their street is on the round, which also stopped the business answering the same question all week.
Price it, or lose them
This is a market where people expect a number. Withholding it does not create a phone call, it creates a back button. A clear price, or a from price with what changes it, keeps people on the page.
Recurring work needs an easy start
The value is in the second, tenth and fiftieth visit, so the first one has to be almost frictionless. No contract, cancel any time, sign up in a minute: say it plainly and the sign-ups follow.
The checklist
What your site needs
Steal this. If your current site does all six you probably do not need us, and we will happily tell you so.
Get a fixed price- A postcode or area checker people can use straight away
- Prices, or a from price with what moves it
- Sign-up that does not require a phone call
- No-contract terms in plain English
- Reviews from streets and areas people recognise
- Round or route information if you run one
What we do
Where we usually start
Common questions
- Can you build a postcode checker for us?
- Yes. It is the single most useful thing on a site like this. You give us the postcodes or the round, and a visitor gets a yes or no in one step instead of an email asking whether you come to their road.
- We are cheaper than the competition. Should we say so?
- Say the price, not the boast. Everyone claims to be competitive, so the number does the persuading on its own and it does not age the way a claim does.
- Do we need online payments?
- Not always. Plenty of home service businesses do better with a simple sign-up and a direct debit set up afterwards. We would rather get the enquiry route right first and add payments when the volume justifies it.
